1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Maple Joy Studio regarding VocaLuma. By downloading, accessing, or using VocaLuma, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
VocaLuma provides vocabulary-learning content, review scheduling, quizzes, progress tools, optional account synchronization, and personalized practice activities. Features may change as we improve the service. Some features require an internet connection and a signed-in account.
3. Accounts
You may use core learning features without an account. If you create or connect an account, you are responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for activity performed through it. Provide accurate information and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Limited license
Subject to these terms, Maple Joy Studio grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use VocaLuma for lawful personal learning. You may not copy, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, disrupt, or exploit the app or service except where applicable law expressly permits it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use VocaLuma for unlawful, abusive, fraudulent, or harmful activity.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, security controls, or access another user's information.
- Interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, or use automated traffic that unreasonably burdens it.
- Submit content you do not have a right to use or content that violates another person's rights.
6. Learning and generated content
Vocabulary definitions, examples, pronunciation guidance, review schedules, and generated activities are educational aids. Although we work to improve quality, they may contain mistakes or may not fit every context. Verify important language, academic, legal, medical, or professional decisions with an appropriate qualified source.
You remain responsible for words and instructions you submit for personalized practice. Generated output may be similar to content generated for others and does not grant exclusive rights.
7. Intellectual property
VocaLuma, its design, software, branding, and original content are owned by Maple Joy Studio or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Certain vocabulary-frequency data is derived from FrequencyWords/OpenSubtitles data by Hermit Dave and is used under CC BY-SA 4.0; applicable attribution and license terms continue to apply.
8. Updates and availability
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, and may release updates needed for security or compatibility. Online services can be interrupted by maintenance, network conditions, third-party service changes, or events outside our control. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using VocaLuma at any time and may delete cloud account data through the app. We may limit or terminate access to online features when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, comply with law, or address a serious or repeated violation of these terms.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VocaLuma is provided "as is" and "as available." Maple Joy Studio disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, except where such disclaimers are prohibited.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maple Joy Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or opportunities arising from use of or inability to use VocaLuma. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in VocaLuma, law, or our operations. The updated terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
